Admire the splendour of the house and discover 105 acres of garden with giant water features, sculptures, beautiful flowers and magnificent views of the park.
Chatsworth House has over 30 rooms to explore, from the magnificent Painted Hall, to the family-used chapel, regal State Rooms and beautiful Sculpture Gallery. Chatsworth also houses the Devonshire Collection, one of Europe’s most significant art collections, which is continually added to, encompassing Old Masters to contemporary ceramics and artefacts from Ancient Egypt to cutting edge modern sculpture.
The garden is famous for its rich history, and includes historic and modern waterworks and sculptures, Joseph Paxton’s Rockery, the maze and an impressive kitchen garden. The famous waterworks include the 300 year old Cascade, the trough waterfall in the rockery and the gravity-fed Emperor fountain which plays to 90m. The 1000 acre park, designed by 'Capability' Brown in the 1760s, is one of the most iconic and historic man-made landscapes in Britain.
Chatsworth House was used for some of the external and internal shots on the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice as well as the 2008 film The Duchess. More recently, it was the subject of the BBC documentary “Chatsworth”. It is also one of The Treasure Houses of Engand.
