One of the oldest cities in the country, dating to 700BC, Worcester today is a beautiful Cathedral City sitting on the banks of the River Severn. With a wealth of interesting architecture, from cobbled Tudor streets and elegant architecture, to the High Street still following the original Roman thoroughfare, as well as being a cultural hotspot with musical influences of Elgar, a medical pedigree as the birthplace of one of the founders of Worcester Royal Infirmary and as the ‘birthplace of democracy’, due to involvement in the creation of the Magna Carta.
Your tour will be in fine company too as Worcester is famed for top class sports teams and venues. Combine this with independent boutiques and varied historic eating and drinking venues such as on historic Friar Street and New Street where two of Worcester’s oldest and most historic pubs are located – not forgetting the famous Sauce, and there is something for everyone!
